Community Day, Foliage, and Fresh Hops this Weekend

The best weekend of the fall season is just around the corner! A long weekend to enjoy sunny, crisp, colorful fall days. Each year, we jam pack the holiday weekend with activities and events for you to enjoy. The fun kicks off on Saturday with Community Day in the Lincoln Peak Courtyard, as a family friendly daylong event. Sunday we’ll be hosting our Third Annual Fresh Hops Fest in the courtyard. Then, our final day of mountain operations before winter will be Monday October 9th. This will be the last day for scenic lift rides and downhill mountain biking, so be sure to get your fill! There’s going to be lots to see and do as we celebrate peak foliage here in central Vermont! Let’s take a closer look at the lineup.

Guests will receive a pour card for twelve 5 oz. pours and a commemorative Fresh Hops Festival 2023 logoed glass. Non-drinkers, designated drivers, and kids are welcome at the festival, and do not need a ticket to enjoy the courtyard.

WHAT IS A FRESH HOP BEER?

Fresh hop beer is only brewed during the early autumn harvesting season due to a very short shelf life, usually less than 24-36 hours. Beers brewed with fresh hops tend to have a distinctively “green” flavor profile, without the classic bitterness that hoppy beers like IPA’s often have.

Most beer on the market, and likely the beer that’s in your fridge, is produced using hops that are dried just hours after harvesting, keeping the harvested hops fresh for up to 3 years. These dried hops impart a different flavor profile into the finished beer, as well as a varied alcohol content, than beer brewed using fresh picked hops.
