High Fives was formed to create a universal shift in adventure sports that expand on what is possible for those who have experienced life-changing injuries. CEO and founder of High Fives, Roy Tuscany, suffered a devastating spinal cord injury in 2006 while training in the terrain park at Mammoth Mountain, California. From that point, he was committed to becoming a leader in the education and recovery of life-altering injuries in outdoor action sports for injured athletes and Veterans, so they can get back to doing what they love. Today Sugarbush hosts several High Fives fundraising events and sponsors them throughout the year. One of those events is coming up this weekend! The 13th Annual Green Mountain Shred-A-Thon at Mt. Ellen.
About the Event
Formerly known as the Fat-Ski-A-Thon, the Green Mountain Shred-A-Thon stands as a cornerstone in the 2024 Ski-a-Thon Series. It is the highest-grossing event for High Fives Foundation. Participants are given a unique way to join together and raise funds for the organization, gathering pledges like Nascar racing chasing sponsorships. Each participant will challenge themselves to hot laps as many times as possible from first to the last chair. From when the event is announced, participants can, individually or within teams, raise funds. Ultimately, they will win prizes based on their funds or their skiing or snowboarding on the day of the event. On the day of the even at Mt. Ellen, you’ll find a vendor village, live DJ, lunch provided for participants, and an all-around great party in the name of philanthropy!
