Don’t let the Mad River Valley’s small size fool you. This vibrant community knows how to throw a good time year-round, and summer is no exception! From weekly events to one-of-a-kind celebrations, there’s something happening around every corner for visitors of all interests and ages. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a craft beer connoisseur, a live music lover, or a dedicated foodie, you’ll find plenty to enjoy throughout the season. Many of our local restaurants, breweries, and shops host regular happenings from live music nights to tastings, art walks, and more, creating a lively atmosphere all summer long. Add to that a packed calendar of events on the mountain here at Sugarbush and throughout the Valley, and your itinerary is sure to be full. The Mad River Valley may be small, but it delivers big when it comes to summer fun.

Art & Nature

von Trapp Open Garden Days – Visit the display garden created and nurtured by Tobi von Trapp. The first of five weekend openings happens over July 4th Weekend, 10:00-4:00 Saturday and Sunday.

Addison West summer Maker’s Market series – Rotating artists and vendors host hands-on workshops and special in-store happenings at Addison West in Waitsfield, Saturdays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Farm & Food

Waitsfield Farmer’s Market – A unique collective of Vermont farmers, makers, bakers, and shakers in the heart of the Mad River Valley Every Saturday, rain or shine May 17th – October 11th, 2025.

Fresh Catch Thursdays at Lawson’s Finest Brewery – Join us and Nor’Easter Catering every Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Taproom as they serve up a variety of oysters on the half shell and a rotating menu of seafood dishes like shrimp ceviche, crab quesadillas, lobster rolls and more.

1/2 Priced Burger Night at Hogan’s Pub Every Thursday at Hogan’s Pub from 4-8PM join us for 1/2 priced burgers with the best deck view in the Valley!

Live Music

Tuesdays on the Big Deck – Kick back every Tuesday starting at Mt. Ellen with live music, rotating food specials, and drinks on the Big Deck… your new favorite midweek hangout all summer and fall.

Friday Night Music at Hogan’s Pub – Start your weekend with Friday night live music at Hogan’s Pub. Great tunes, good vibes, and mountain views.

Music in the Courtyard – Enjoy live music in the Courtyard on every other Saturday starting 7/12. Swing by Rumble’s for a drink and a bite, then kick back and soak in the mountain vibes. Plus, music 4th of July WeekendPresented by Lawson’s Finest Liquids.

Back Porch Music Series – Live Music, Food and Beverage at Lareau Farm June 17, July 15, August 19 and September 16th. Lawn games, families welcome! Come one come all! Fun Times!! 5-9:30pm.

Sports & Outdoors

$65 Thursdays at the Golf Club – Hit the course for $65 rounds, then sink your teeth into ½ priced burgers at Hogan’s Pub from 4-8PM. Golf, grub, and good times all in one swing.

Disc Golf Intro Clinic – Have you ever wanted to learn how to play Disc Golf? Come and join us for this free beginner Disc Golf Clinic. First come first serve.

Rippers Weekly The Mad River Rippers introduces the joys of mountain biking to kids in the Valley aged two and up. Free to all. During weekly rides on Tuesday evenings, kids develop bike handling skills, get fit and learn how to overcome challenges. Riders are placed into small groups of similarly skilled riders based on age, experience, and riding style. Rides take place at Blueberry Lake, the Moretown skills park and other locations throughout the valley starting at 5:30pm until about 7pm.
