Another gorgeous fall weekend in the books. This past Saturday and Sunday at the Lincoln Peak Courtyard we had back-to-back days of events with Oktoberfest and Community Day. We raised over $10,000 this weekend for the Better Selves Fellowship at Knoll Farm in Waitsfield. A huge thank you to everyone who came out to show support. Oktoberfest
The courtyard was packed to the brim on Saturday for Oktoberfest with people (and dogs) in lederhosen and dirndls. Classic German polka music echoed throughout the courtyard while people enjoyed brats and beer. This year we upped the ante with our Bavarian Games to include a stein race, yodeling contest, keg rolling, and the classic stein hold and keg toss. I was particularly impressed with the number of yodelers we had amidst the Sugarbush community. At the end of it all we crowned a king and queen of the Bavarian Games and had an impromptu rock-paper-scissors showdown to break the tie for king.
Community Day
Overnight the courtyard transformed from a Bavarian biergarten into a bustling community market. We love celebrating the local businesses, people, and organizations in the valley. What’s even more special is seeing them all in one place. Sunday’s music kicked off with an awesome performance by The Seraph and then continued on with Running in Circles. We also had local vendors like Mad River Distillery, Gracie’s Tamales & Burritos, and Birch Studios.
Weekend Long Activities
We also had scenic lift rides and a demo sale to round out the weekend. The lift rides are such a great way to take in the valley in any season, and fall is no exception. I loved seeing people getting their fall photos taken at the top of the lift. I hope to see them all over Instagram this week.
Upcoming Events
We’ve got one more event this Fall for the cherry on top or should I say candy corn on top? 😉 October 30th we’ll be putting the boo in boogie with our Halloween party. Come hang with us and The Grift and have a spooktacular time at our Halloween party Massacre Mountain.
