Outpour Is Back, Featuring Talking Dreads and Benefitting Habitat for Humanity

Several years ago after major flooding across the state, we worked to find a way to raise money for the recovery efforts. We gathered bands, collected community raffle items, and came together to support an awesome cause. What initially felt like it might be a one-off fundraising event transformed into an annual benefit concert, each year raising money for a great cause. In year two, we suffered flooding all over again, and continued to raise money for the Vermont Community Foundation’s Flood Response & Community Fund. Last year, we focused on food scarcity with the Vermont Food Bank.

This year, in partnership with our good friends at the Mad River Valley Rotary, the concert will be benefitting Central Vermont Habitat For Humanity who are dedicated to helping local families achieve affordable homeownership through home construction, rehabilitation, critical repairs, and affordable mortgages. A very appropriate cause given how important housing issues are right now in Vermont.

We have a great lineup of bands for the day as well thanks to our partner dOb Productions, headlined by Talking Dreads. If you haven’t had a chance to see them before (we’ve hosted them a couple times), they put on a great show. High energy, great stage presence, and great tunes. Additionally, Mal Maiz and The Detonators will both be playing leading up to Talking Dreads.

Doors open at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 26th with music from 3:00 – 8:00 PM, all on Mt. Ellen’s big deck. If for some reason Mother Nature brings the bad weather, we have a full indoor plan throughout both floors of the Mt. Ellen Base Lodge to accommodate.

Not only will there be music, but just like in years past, we’ll be cooking up plenty of food, the cash bar will be open, and the Rotary raffling and live auctioning off a number of awesome prizes from around the Mad River Valley.

In an effort to raise money for a great cause, this is a ticketed event, with all ticket, raffle, and t-shirt proceeds going directly to Central Vermont Habitat For Humanity. You can buy tickets for just $25 online ahead of time, $35 at the door, or grab a VIP Ticket, which includes admission, a t-shirt, a dedicated space to hang out, and more perks. If you can’t make it but still want to contribute, you’ll also find a donation option.

Every Outpour has been a great time, and we expect this one to be even better. Thank you in advance to everyone who will help donate, and I hope to see you at the event.
