An Outpouring of Love for Habitat for Humanity

Well after a week of the weather playing chicken with us, the rain held out for Outpour last weekend. The day was spent jammin’ to bands, soaking up the fall colors, and sipping on some Lawson’s Finest.

All of the proceeds this year went to supporting Central Vermont Habitat For Humanity. If you’re not familiar with Habitat For Humanity, they help local families achieve affordable homeownership through home construction, rehabilitation, critical repairs, and affordable mortgages. As a topic that hits close to home (no pun intended), being able to raise money to help the future of our backyard is extremely important to us. This year, we were able to raise thousands of dollars for them. So thank you all for your generosity and we hope you enjoyed yourselves!

Being able to sit out on the back deck all evening was such a treat. Once the sun dipped, Talking Dreads took over and kept the energy going all night. People were dancing, singing, and grooving all evening. Nights like this are a good reminder of what makes the Mad River Valley special. It’s a small place, but when something matters, this community shows up. None of it happens without the generosity of local sponsors and volunteers who donate their time, prizes, and energy year after year.

Big thanks to everyone who came out and helped make the night a success. And if this year was any indication, next year’s event is already one to put on the calendar.
