Rest of Season and Summer Ops Update

How time flies. Opening Day practically feels like yesterday, yet here we are on our 151st day of operation. We’re coming off an incredible two week run of good times with Pride Weekend, Pond Skimming, the eclipse, and Spring Fling. And we’re not done yet. As of right now our plan is to continue to operate daily through this Sunday, April 21st before moving to weekends only for the next two weekends, culminating in a final Ski & Tee Weekend on May 4th and 5th. We’re continuing to keep an eye on the weather and are open to potentially adjusting that plan as the forecast becomes clearer. Just keep an eye on social media and the snow report for any announcements. EDIT 4/19/24: Good news! We’re adding some bonus days to the mix. Our plan is now officially locked in for next week: we will be open daily through Tuesday, April 23rd, close Wednesday/Thursday, and then reopen Friday/Saturday/Sunday. After that we will close midweek and reopen for our Ski & Tee Weekend on May 4th and 5th.

As far as terrain goes? We’ll keep holding onto whatever we can as the season winds down. Some of the terrain off of Super Bravo is probably getting close to going. And then at some point we’ll switch from Bravo to Valley House to close things out. That could potentially be in the next few days given that we’re not seeing freeze cycles anymore. The ultimate spring trail, Stein’s Run, is still buried in snow.

But looking even further than that, we’re pretty excited to be bringing back our Ski & Tee Weekend. A fan favorite that returned last year after a brief hiatus, we’ll have both the lift spinning and the golf course open simultaneously. In fact all 2024/25 Ikon Pass and Sugarbush Pass holders, along with anyone who purchases a lift ticket or redeems a Quad Pack/TBD Ticket that weekend, will be able to golf for just $30 either day. If that jives with your love of the four seasons, make sure to call or email the golf club to book a tee time (starting April 29th) because we sold out both days last year.

And then that will be that for the world of sliding on snow. We’ll say so long to the 2023/24 winter season and set our sights ahead to summer. In order to work around the new Heaven’s Gate Quad construction, we are making some adjustments to our summer operating schedule. As we’ve discussed in previous blogs, new lifts are always a big undertaking and that construction, along with the mountain traffic that coincides with it, will have a direct impact on some of our summer operations, specifically our mountain biking. The lift construction would require us to close a good portion of our mountain biking terrain and because of that among a few other reasons, we have decided to not operate lift-served mountain biking for this summer.

Mountain biking remains in our long-term plans, and permitting still continues for hopefully building new terrain off of the Gate House Quad in the future, but we’ve determined it makes sense to suspend bike operations this summer. While mountain biking will be on a hiatus, we do still plan to continue to maintain our mountain bike terrain with the hope of reopening in subsequent seasons. Non lift-served terrain like Lower Woods Trail should still be options this summer though.

With that in mind we will also be switching our scenic lift rides to weekends only (plus at least July 4th and Indigenous People’s Day). Things like hiking (outside of construction zones), disc golf, summer camps, and the Sugarbush Resort Golf Club will all be running on their usual schedule as in years past. The bungee trampoline will not operate this summer.

We’re also working on some great events, including many returning favorites, but we’ll be sharing more info about those in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to see you this summer, and if not, look forward to welcoming you back next winter. As a reminder, Season Passes and Quad Packs are on sale now at their lowest rates. Lock in before you forget, and for those of you done for the season already, don’t worry, we’ll be skiing again in no time.
