What a weekend at Sugarbush! The past few days were filled with one of a kind experiences from a natural phenomenon, to our annual Pride Weekend celebration, plus a local favorite – Pond Skimming. Each day, you all showed up ready to get DOWN! The energy that surrounded each of these events was nothing short of incredible. The Sugarbush community, plus many others from all walks of life gathered at our mountain to celebrate. Celebrate spring, our diverse community, including our fellow 2STLGBQ+ skiers and riders, and the celestial wonder that only a Total Solar Eclipse brings. We are proud to be a gathering space for events such as these. Some of our favorite moments of the season happened this past weekend and we want to share it with all you! IT’S RECAP TIME!
In order of events…
Pond Skimming
A yearly tradition that signifies the rite of spring, Pond Skim is a crowd favorite year after year. Sugarbush being the supposed originator of the Pond Skim, we take pride in this event year after year. This year’s featured unique costumes, the biggest crowd we’ve seen yet, and lots, and we mean lots, of splashes.
Pride Weekend
Our second annual Pride Weekend was one to remember! From the Pride Parade down Spring Fling, to the awesome dance party in the courtyard with DJ Craig Mitchell, and the iconic Drag Brunch at Rumble’s – it was a day full of community celebration.
Total Solar Eclipse
A once in a lifetime event for many, was witnessed right in our neck of the woods. It was a spectacular event with awe shared by everyone who came to watch from our mountain. This will be a day we will never forget!
In case you missed it…
After teasing this project dating back to last spring, we’re excited to finally get underway with our big Heaven’s Gate Replacement Project. As most of you already know, we will be replacing the current Heaven’s Gate Triple with a new fixed-grip Heaven’s Gate Quad to open for the 2024-25 winter season. It’s been a good run for the triple, with 40 years of service under its belt, and it’s time for a well-deserved retirement.
