Summer is right around the corner and the Mad River Valley has tons to offer in the warmer months. It’s honestly my favorite time to experience the nature of the Valley. It becomes like a vibrant oasis in the woods filled with all kinds of wildlife. There’s tons to explore from a myriad of hiking and biking trails, swimming spots, to art and community events!
Today we’ve compiled our goals for summer in the ultimate Mad River Valley Bucket List. From tried and true activities we love to do every year, to some new adventures to go on. These are perfect ideas to add to your trip itineraries in the coming months, or maybe as a local to challenge yourself and complete them all!
Float in a tube down the Mad River
Grab a tube (a sturdy one at that) and float along the chilly and scenic Mad River from The Lareau Park to the iconic Waitsfield Covered Bridge.
Hike the Long Trail Gap to Gap
Take the 11.6 mile trek along the Long Trail covering the Summit of Mount Abraham, Lincoln Peak, Mt. Ellen, General Stark Mountain, and finishing up at the Appalachian Gap.
