Feeling Good almost 150 days in!
It might not be a record breaker, but it sure is a number we are proud of! With a wobbly start to the season, to say the least, we are stoked of our total number of operational days this year. It was truly a season of ups and downs, but we sure did make the most of it! Keep on reading to see how those days were filled with snow, sun, and sips.
Snow on Snow on Snow
Can you believe it? 17 day of consecutive snow?! It feels like a dream. Yep, back in January we saw 17 days in a row of snow fall for the longest stretch this season. Between January 1st and January 17th we saw a total of 52″ accumulated. Not a bad way to kick off 2025! It hit just as MLK Weekend arrived making for a one of a kind holiday weekend to be at the mountain. This snowfall brought us through the end of January and right into our snowiest month this winter season.

❄️ I like Big Dumps and I Cannot Lie
The most snow we saw in a 24 hour period may not be completely mind boggling, but it’s a number we’ll take! Because it still gave us an awesome powder day, didn’t it? During February 16th to 17th, the heaven’s blessed us with just over a foot of precious powder to play in. And the timing just couldn’t have been better. If you were here celebrating Presidents’ Week with us, you know that it kicked us off to a great holiday week!
And the Award Goes to…February!
Any guesses on how much snow we were gifted with in the month of February? The shortest month of the year, but this season, a real star! Drumroll please…79″!! February was the time to be here to soak in all the wintery fun up on the mountain. While March is always a contender for snow count in our books, February as the peak winter month, took the reigns this season and beat out March.

🌤️ Bluebird Day Count
We’ve taken a gander at the average number of sunny and partly cloudy days in Warren, VT (Dec 2024 – Apr 2025). With a total of 41 days, we were feeling that Vitamin D! Notably, February had the fewest sunny days, averaging just 6.7. In contrast, April saw a slight increase, averaging 9.3 sunny days. Combined with party cloudy days, our average bumps up to 80! Whether we saw a little sunshine on any given day, or a lot, it fueled our motivation for those extra runs.
⛷ Popular Lifts of the 24/25 Season!
Based on the number of scans, the Super Bravo Lift saw the highest skier usage, making it the most popular lift at Sugarbush. Its high scan count reflects its prominent role in serving a large volume of skiers throughout the season. Not far behind, the Gatehouse Lift also saw significant usage, maintaining a strong presence in skier traffic. The GMX Lift rounds out the top three, with a notable number of scans indicating it remains a popular choice among skiers. These lifts stand out not just for their skier counts, but for their consistent usage across the season.

Snowmaking!
Snowmaking is one of everyone’s favorite topics. And we do a lot of it! Each year, our snowmaking operation grows in more ways than one. For starters, our snowmaking efficiency goes up year after year. That means we’re pumping out more snow, faster, and with less water. How neat?! This season at Lincoln Peak, we pumped 157.28 million gallons for snowmaking over 67 days.
and more Snowmaking!
Don’t fret, we have lovely Mt. Ellen included in snowmaking too! Just like at Lincoln Peak, our snowmaking grows year over year and becomes more efficient. While Mt. Ellen’s season is a little shorter than Lincoln Peaks, we still make the most of it! At Mt. Ellen, we pumped 98.12 million gallons over 57 days.

Winter Wellness with Harwood Union School District
Every winter, we work with local schools to get their students out onto snow. To learn, make memories, and just have some fun. These programs get kids from ages 5 to 15 out onto the mountain weekly. It’s such a large part of our community to ski and ride, and to support a new generation of enthusiasts is so special. Currently we are working with all the schools in the Harwood Union Unified School District. That’s 7 schools with a total of 1,793 students! Each school is designed with a program that works well for their students and staff.
Seasonal Programs at the Ski and Ride School
At Sugarbush we offer Seasonal Programs which are multi-week lesson packages designed to help skiers and riders build skills and confidence throughout the winter. Participants are grouped by age and ability, and meet regularly with the same coaches and peers for a consistent, progression-focused experience! This season 424 kids participated amongst all of our Seasonal Programs ranging in ages from 3-18.

Top Blog Posts
Here’s something you might not have thought about. What are our top posts for the season? Any guesses? It’s clear to us what you guys always want to read about. Mountain operations. Duh! Who wouldn’t? This season’s top blog posts were pretty intriguing. Especially because our top post of the year was actually published in 2023. Unsurprisingly, it was our snow reporter, Lucy’s, first ever blog post introducing herself. Her moment in the limelight skyrocketed her post from 2 years ago to the top of our list! Not far behind were posts about, yes, mountain operations. A State of the Mountain from December touching on snowmaking, lifts, and hiking access. And in third place, our opening day plan and a Heaven’s Gate lift update. No wonder these blogs caught your attention…those are some hot topics!

Top Social Posts
All of our engagements, likes and comments are something we play close attention to throughout the season. Sometimes our silly posts see the most likes and comments, sometimes it’s our operational posts, you just never know! This season, there was a real variety in our top posts. A lot happened this season! We spotted Murphy Moose running down the slopes (you all LOVED that), we hopped on a couple of trends and our special visitor cause some commotion on social media as well. But our top posts of the season are maybe ones you wouldn’t have guessed! All you chionophiles out there crushed the engagement on that reel describing people who love winter. Who couldn’t relate to that?! Next up was our Pride reel recapping what an amazing weekend we had in March! Lastly, shockingly, it almost pains me to say it…a reel that we lovingly refer to in the marketing department as the potato phone video, was our third most liked post. I can’t even share it here! You’ll have to go directly to Instagram to see it. Was it how ridiculously grainy it was? Or was it the powder you could almost just make out in the shot? Either way, it made it’s way into third place somehow.

Honorable Mentions
Wildlife sightings!! One of our other favorite things to talk about during the winter season. This year we had some lovely visitors! And a variety at that. Anyone remember our lift riding raccoon last season? What a cutie. But this season, they came out in full force. Fluffy ears, big eyes, and hungry bellies. We can’t get enough. And although they are adorable, we do hope that they stay close to their homes and don’t interact with us all too much! From ermines with a back story, to skiing beavers and awakening bears, we made a lot of furry friends this season.
