It’s that time of yearrrr! Where 45 degrees feels warm enough to sit outside in a t-shirt and crocs and let the sun absorb into your skin. It’s one of life’s greatest feelings. The renewal that spring brings. Within that shift is the sweet spot where we get easy, soft turns on the mountain and the joy of outdoor après without shivering. This in between is one of the best times of year at Sugarbush. A courtyard full of sun, cold beers to go around, and firepits to warm the toes. Let’s highlight some of our favorite spring après spots at Sugarbush and around the Valley.
Lincoln Peak Courtyard, Lincoln Peak

It’s a classic! And oh so convenient. Once your done skiing and riding for the day, plop yourself in an adirondack and enjoy the sun and views. The container bar is always open when the sun is out cranking out your favorites from Island Oasis, to Johnny Juice, hot dogs and more. You can also always grab more filling grub from the Lunch Box or pop into Rumble’s and sit on the patio for ultimate après dining.
Wunderbar Deck, Lincoln Peak

Unbeatable views, great food and even better drinks? What more could you want. The Wunderbar deck is the perfect place for a little spring après. From lighter bites to hardier soups and sandwiches, everyone can get their fix. Plus, it’s usually less crowded than the courtyard. So if you’re looking for a more chill, post-run vibe definitely check out the Wunderbar before it closes for the season!
Lawson’s Finest Liquids, Waitsfield

A classic. I know I’m preaching to the choir, but you can’t mention great après spots in the Valley without mentioning Lawson’s. With live music, an awesome patio, a new dog friendly area (!!), oh and just about everybody’s favorite beer – it’s always worth the stop. They always have food and drink specials going on too, so even if you’re a tried and true fan, you’re bound to find something new each time you visit.
Scrag and Roe, Waitsfield

Looking for something a little more unique? Head down to Bridge Street for Scrag and Roe. When the weather is nice they open up their patio for a one of a kind view of the Mad River. Enjoy global eats with signature cocktails for a truly worldly experience right here in the Valley. Some of their delectable après bites include grilled pork belly bun, crispy spanish octopus, Rhode Island oysters and more!
Joy Bar, Waitsfield

Looking to try the newest spot in the Valley? Check out Joy Bar! Near the Mad River Green Shops, its central location is the perfect post-ski dig. This newcomer offers Craft beverages and house made Mediterranean inspired food in a warm, inviting atmosphere. With live music, wine dinners and other events, they are coming in hot to the Valley food scene!
