It’s no secret that you all love to hear what’s going on at Sugarbush. And I’m not talking just anything. You love the juicy details, the good, the bad, and the ugly – no matter the time of year. Each winter, when we bring back our State of the Mountain Reports, they are consistently our most viewed blog. You want to be in the know. And honestly, who wouldn’t want to be?
Well today, we’re continuing the tradition of bringing you behind the scenes. We’re looking at lift stats, snowmaking numbers, snowfall counts, and more to give you a deep dive into what the 25/26 really held. It was an incredible season and the numbers truly reflect that. So, without further adieu, let’s get into it!

A Solid Season
A whole 10 day improvement from last season! (iykyk). These 157 days were filled with powder, celebrating, sunshine, camaraderie, and so much more. We just made it to the first weekend of May with our closing being Saturday the 2nd. No matter the day, thanks to all who came out and made this a season to remember!
Nothing crazy, but not too shabby!
Our longest stretch of consecutive snow this season with 6 whole days. Almost a week! Not too bad considering it came in December. Other close streaks later in the season were 4 or 5 days in a row. Nevertheless, we always made the most of it!

Let it snowwww
Over a foot came multiple times at once this season with 18 inches taking the cake in January! From the 26th through the 27th we saw some decent snow that ended up being one of the best powder days of the season.
January, you did it!
You guessed it. That big powder day helped make January our snowiest month of the season by far! January saw a whopping 71″ of snow beating out some of the other winter months by 30+ inches. I know it’s usually quality over quantity, but in this case…quantity was well-appreciated.

A sunny winter
What a difference from our last few winters! On average, we saw 60-70 sunny days this winter between partly cloudy and full bluebird goodness. Plus with some consecutive streaks of sun between snow, we were feeling pretty joyful all season long.
Let’s look at snowmaking
Starting at Lincoln Peak! We did a lot of snowmaking this year and did it more efficiently 💅 (shoutout to the snowmaking team). We pumped 140 MILLION gallons of water for snowmaking at Lincoln Peak. *Cough cough* that’s why we can ski in May *cough cough*.

And more snowmaking
While Mt. Ellen’s season is a little shorter than Lincoln Peaks, we still make the most of it! We pumped 96 million gallons during Ellen’s season of late December through March.
So many hours!
A never before shared stat! The combined total of hours the lifts ran this season is over 10,000 hours. That includes our surface lifts and the one and only Slidebrook Express Lift.

Grooming, grooming, grooming
Another huge shoutout to our grooming team and what they accomplish in the wee hours of the day! This season they groomed 26,577.5 acres across both Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen. That’s approximately 15,000–18,000 miles of grooming, which is like driving across the U.S. 5–6 times just to groom the mountain.
Let’s hear it for Slidey B
Can we give a warm welcome back to the Slidebrook Express Lift, the longest detachable quad in North America, for making its return this season! This is the longest it’s spun in several years, and the earliest it has opened as well. Slidebrook would have continued to run longer if not for the big melt we had in March impacting snow depth beneath the lift for potential evacs. Either way, we were happy to have her back up and running!
