Which Sugarbush chairlift captures your essence?

Welcome to your What Sugarbush chairlift captures your essence?

How do you approach a powder day?

Finding my favorite spots and lapping them all day

Chaotically– groomers, bumps, trees, lunch on the lift

I am disappearing into the woods to find the best snow. See ya in a couple hours!!

Working the legs like they’ve never worked before!

Taking advantage of the soft snowpack to sharpen my skills

What’s your top priority when skiing?

Getting some good forest-bathing time

The views!

Skiing hard and lookin’ good while doing it

Taking the lift right to the mid-mountain lodge to down some snacks and beverages

Playing on the snow-playground–side hits, jumps, rails, tricks…I’m a kid at recess again!!

What are your socialization goals on the lift?

Make pleasant small talk while subtly trying to politely wipe the snot from my nose

Chirp the skiers down below while I eat my pocket snack. And only exchange a “ready for the bar?” with my liftmates

None. Please don’t talk to me.

Oh no…the lift stopped, and you’re on it. How do you react?

Appreciate the fresh air and try to identify the peaks around you (probably incorrectly) to pass the time

Shrug. It happens. I’m sitting back, appreciating the break, and watching people ski by down below

Swap stories with my fellow chairlift comrades

Panic! What if it never moves again?! What if they forgot about us?! Haven’t they seen the chairlift horror movie Frozen?! I’m debating calling 911 (note: please don’t do this. Lifts stop all the time and there is a protocol for everything)

What’s your favorite terrain to ski?

Speedy groomers

Twisty turny glades

Steep moguls

Wherever there’s a terrain park

It doesn’t matter, but I will be skinning up. Earn those turns!!

Best way to stay warm on a cold day?

Stick to the woods–It’s always warmer in the trees!

Where are you pit-stopping on the way home?

The Jiffy on Route 100–my car is on empty and I need a Yerba Mate

Mt Ellen or Lincoln Peak–wherever I haven’t skied yet today!

A Hawaiian shirt of course

You got separated from your group on a busy day at the mountain. What’s your move?

Call them from the lift…even if it means freezing my hands off

Just keep lapping the same lift till they find me

Rip a couple solo laps and then make some new friends

Finally…some peace and quiet! I’ll see them at the car at the end of the day

Psh, this would never happen. We ski with walkie-talkies!

Allie's Sugarbush journey began in 2014 when she rolled into the Valley chasing the dream of full-time ski bum glory—but one thing led to another, and she found herself on ski patrol. Falling head over heels (sometimes literally) for the mountains. She eventually swapped her seasonal dirtbag lifestyle for year-round mountain ops. In 2024, an injury benched her just long enough to join the marketing team, where she now spreads stoke and mountain magic in different ways. When not sidelined, she’s out racking up over 100 days a season, living by her personal mantra: there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear—and maybe bad snacks.
