What You’ll Be Covering
Whether you’re brand new to the game or just want to brush up on the basics, this Intro to Disc Golf Clinic is the perfect opportunity for you! Join us for a fun and welcoming introduction to one of the fastest-growing and popular outdoor sport in Vermont.
This beginner-friendly session is designed to help you build a solid foundation in disc golf while having a great time out on the course. We’ll cover everything you need to know to get started, including:
🌀 Putting Fundamentals
Learn the techniques that will help you develop a consistent putting routine. We’ll show you how to line up your shots, control your release, and sink those close-range putts with confidence.
✋ Gripping the Disc
We’ll demonstrate different types of grips and help you find the one that’s most comfortable and effective for your throwing style.
🧍 Form and Throwing Mechanics
Good form is key to improving your distance and accuracy. We’ll break down the basic throwing motion, including stance, footwork, follow-through, and common mistakes to avoid.
🧠 Playing Smart
Disc golf isn’t just about power—it’s also about strategy. Learn how to read the course, choose the right disc for each situation and make smart decisions.
Putting it All Into Practice
After we go over the fundamentals, it’s time to hit the course! We’ll play through the first few holes together so you can apply what you’ve learned in a relaxed, supportive environment. Vaughn will be there every step of the way to offer tips, answer questions, and cheer you on.

Who can register?
This clinic is open to all ages and abilities. No experience is necessary—just bring a willingness to learn and have fun! Players are welcome to bring their own discs, or if you don’t have any, discs can be purchased on site for $20. Discs will not be provided for the clinics. Each clinic is first come first serve. Only 8 spots will be available per time slot each clinic day. So be sure to sign up in advance! Day of registration is welcome, but we cannot guarantee open spots will be available.
Come Prepared
The entirety of these clinics will be spent outside, on the course! Be prepared to stand for long periods of time in the sun. We suggest proper clothing. This includes, hats, sunglasses, and close toed shoes. Don’t forget to apply or bring sunscreen and a water bottle to stay hydrated! Disc golf includes lots of walking, so wear something comfortable and suitable for rugged terrain. The first few holes of our course are reached by walking up the lower parts of the mountain. Plus, feel free to bring a bag to carry any discs you will be bringing along with your water, or anything else you might need!

Meet Your Instructor: Vaughn
Vaughn has been part of the Sugarbush crew for the past few years. Whether he’s carving fresh lines on the mountain or jamming out to some tunes, he brings good vibes wherever he goes. When he’s not skiing or chasing live music, you’ll find him on the disc golf course. As a twin, he’s used to sharing the spotlight, but this summer he’s taking the lead with Sugarbush’s Intro to Disc Golf Clinic. Come say hey and let Vaughn show you the ropes—just don’t challenge him to a putting contest unless you’re ready for a friendly showdown.
