A good après scene can make any ski trip that much more memorable. There’s a lot to consider when looking for the perfect après ski spot. Ambiance, location, food and beverage options – they all matter. Sugarbush has no shortage of après locale and that’s, in part, thank to the Valley. Being a ski town through and through, the valley knows how to après. Today I’m talking 5 Places to Après in the Valley that are some of our favorites to hit up.
Deco – Hostel Tevere
My first visit to Deco at Hostel Tevere was recent, and I’m so bummed I haven’t made it out sooner! This small restaurant and bar is a hidden gem. The decor and overall vibe is top tier and the menu is just as good. They have pages of beer and wine to choose from, not to mention you can order food to the bar, or have a lovely sit down meal. This is a great spot right at the bottom of the access road to try out.
Alpino Vino
Alpino Vino is the definition of cozy après. Walking into this wine bar feels like walking into a cozy remote cabin where you can just watch the snow fall. There’s plenty of seating from right at the bar to the cozy couches and fur-lined benches to warm up by the fire. It’s the perfect spot for a more upscale après experience with hand selected wines to choose from, wine flights, as well as small bites to snack on.
Fit to be Thai’d
Fit to be Thai’d is one of the most unique spots to visit in the Valley. Not only do they have delicious authentic Thai cuisine, they have a great bar scene as well. Located just minutes from the Sugarbush base area, it’s a great place to hit for your après. In a cozy setting you can enjoy live music, a big ol’ bowl of pad thai, and a great drink to wash it all down.
Emily’s Bar
The wonder of Emily’s Bar is that you never know what you’re gonna get. With rotating food menus and drinks specials, you’re always in for something new. Emily knows everyone who comes through her door and is local that you have to meet. Stop by for drinks with full bar offerings, or drop in for apps and dinner to fill you right up. This spot central in the Valley is a must see.
Mad River Barn
Friday & Saturday 4:00pm-9:00pm
Mad River Barn is a staple of the Valley. It’s on the most gorgeous property because they’re really an inn and host tons of weddings a year! But when their restaurant is open? You’ll want to be there. They have a fantastic menu and beers and cocktails that are crave worthy. Not to mention the atmosphere is so fun and casual, you’re sure to have a great time there.
