The Collab You’ve All Been Waiting For: BirdieBlue x Sugarbush

Remember your last blue bird day, where the snow was deep and the sky overhead was an impeccable azul, pure blue, pure magic? That feeling is what Kate from the company BirdieBlue is capturing, not on skis or on a snowboard, but by upcycling old ski pants and jackets.

Kate says it all started when the duct tape just wasn’t going to repair her snow pants one more time. Not wanting to throw them out and add to the 92 million tons of clothes that end up in landfills every single year, she decided to cut them apart and sew the good pieces into her first BirdieBlue bag!

In this woman led company, she employs Vermonters in the Northeast Kingdom that have traditionally struggled to find good work. It’s a win, win, win situation! Good for the landfill, good for the ski and ride community and good for the women who have meaningful work. If you want to learn more about BirdieBlue, go ahead and click right here.

Kate has partnered with us at Sugarbush to save old uniforms from the landfill by repurposing them into totes, sling bags, travel bags and fanny packs. She is simultaneously helping Mother Earth and the mountain community by creating sustainably created accessories for our mountain lifestyle.

These unique bags will be available on opening day at the Adventure Gear Shop in the Gate House Lodge. Due to their unique designs, we decided to keep them as an in store purchase only. Each one is different. Once these are gone, they are gone, at least until we harvest another round of worn out uniforms!

See you when the snow flies!
