The 2026 King Golf Challenge at Sugarbush Resort Golf Club in Warren, Vermont, was another unforgettable day of golf, friendship, and giving back.
Now in its fourth year, the King Golf Challenge has grown into a special tradition at Sugarbush. One that brings together golfers, friends, family, supporters, and special guests for a common purpose: using the game of golf to help families affected by cancer.
This year’s event, held on August 19, featured 36 holes of golf in a pro/celebrity format. Joining Roger King on the course were NBC5 lead anchor Brian Colleran, former New England Patriots player Ronnie Lippett, and retired NHL player and referee Paul Stewart.
But, as always, the final score was only part of the story.

$15,000 Raised
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who participated, donated, sponsored, and supported the event, the 2026 King Golf Challenge raised $15,000.
That brings the four-year fundraising total to an amazing $75,000.
The money raised benefits two organizations that are especially meaningful to the King family: Vineyard Havens and the Cancer Patient Support Foundation. Vineyard Havens provides cancer patients and their families with all-expenses-paid respite vacations on Martha’s Vineyard, while the Cancer Patient Support Foundation provides financial assistance and support to Vermont cancer patients and their families.
More Than a Day of Golf
What began as a golf marathon has evolved into a unique pro/celebrity event, but the heart of the King Golf Challenge has remained the same.
It is about bringing people together and making a difference.
The King family’s connection to cancer support organizations grew from their own experience with Erin’s breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. After Erin’s successful battle with cancer, the family wanted to find a way to give back to others facing similar challenges. That desire became the King Golf Challenge.
Four years later, the generosity of the Sugarbush community and supporters from near and far has turned that idea into a $75,000 contribution to organizations helping cancer patients and their families.

A Community Effort
A fundraiser like this doesn’t happen because of one person. It takes players, sponsors, volunteers, donors, friends, family, Sugarbush Resort, and everyone who helps spread the word.
From the first tee shot to the final putt, and through the celebration afterward, the 2026 King Golf Challenge once again showed what can happen when people come together around a cause that matters
The beautiful setting of Sugarbush Resort Golf Club provided the backdrop, but it was the people who made the day special.

Looking Ahead
Four years. $75,000 raised. Countless rounds of golf, friendships, laughs, and memories.
And most importantly, support for people and families who are navigating one of life’s most difficult challenges.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make the King Golf Challenge what it is today. Your generosity has made a real difference, and we look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.
Golf with heart. Give with purpose. And keep the tradition going.
Thank you for making the 2026 King Golf Challenge another incredible success.
