New Year, New You: 2023 Resolutions at Sugarbush

Another new year, another new list of resolutions. Resolutions are exciting, daunting, and rejuvenating all in one. The feeling of accomplishing a goal is incomparable, but actually doing it, well, that’s the hard part. To help start your year right, we’ve compiled some resolutions to help get the ball rolling! These are resolutions you’ll be looking forward to checking off your list.

Rent a Base Cabin

I can’t think of anything more perfect than a chilly winter day on the mountain, with my own personal warming cabin. A place to rest between runs, store bags, and watch the snowfall all day long. Equipt with boot storage, a cooler, and a table to après at – it’s got it all! Personal space to avoid crowds and have direct access to the mountain? Now that is my kind of vacation.

XC Ski on the Catamount Trail

Alpine skiing not your thing? I checked this one off last year and it was a great experience! A portion of the Catamount XC ski trail passes right through our golf course. It’s a great way to spend a sunny afternoon outdoors. The great thing about this resolution is that you have so many options. Follow the trail for as long as you want (up to 300+ miles to explore) or throw on your snowshoes for a leisurely stroll through the Green Mountains.

Complete the Sugarbush App Tracking Challenges

For those who like a competitive resolution, we’ve got the perfect activity for you. Five unique challenges to take you across the mountain, testing your abilities. Earn badges and share stats with friends all in the Sugarbush App! This is a resolution that will last you the rest of the season. Keep your motivation high and track challenges at your own pace to start your year strong!

Sign up for von Trapp Winter Tulip Bouquet CSA

All winter I miss the colors and warmth summer brings. And while I love watching the snowfall, freshening up my dining table with some fresh flowers always brings me joy. Right smack in the middle of winter, have fresh tulip bouquets for 8 weeks straight. Get your winter fill on the slopes and when you turn in for the afternoon, enjoy a lovely arrangement of locally grown tulips while we await spring (don’t worry we won’t tell anyone you’re looking forward to it)!

Ice Skate at the Waitsfield Skatium

Skating is something that would bring me so much joy as a child and never ceases to amuse me each year I get back to it. It’s always a challenge getting your bearings back on the ice, but that’s what makes it so fun. The Skatium makes it easy to keep up with your resolution with season pass offerings!

Take an Après Groomer Ride to the Summit

This new year comes with new toys. Our brand new cabin cat is heated and glass enclosed for panoramic views. You and 8 of your closest friends can hop into one and be taken to the summit of Lincoln Peak. Depending on the time of year you can catch the sunset, or enjoy the mountains’ glow from above! If you’re more of a ride up and ski down kind of person, we have that too! Take a sunrise ride for first tracks off the North Lynx Triple before lifts start spinning. Your cabin cat adventure of 2023 awaits!

Take a Ski/Snowboard Lesson

There’s always room for growth. If you’re the kind of person who likes to make resolutions that help you continue to learn, this might be the one for you. Been a skier all your life? Maybe it’s time to try riding for once! It’s always good to brush up on the basics or switch things up! I know I’ll be getting into it this winter. And if you feel like you’ve much-surpassed lessons, Sugarbush has advanced offerings too! Fine-tune your skills, get personalized attention and learn with like-minded individuals.

Have dinner at 1824 House Inn + Barn

You can’t get more local than the 1824 house which has been a MRV staple for years. Recently reimagined, they will be opening the doors to their barn for dinners once again. Featuring a hearty seasonal menu with a variety for classic stew lovers, to vegetarians alike – they’ve got lots to choose from. With locally sourced offerings, to optional meal donations to the MRV Community Pantry, you’re sure to feel good after your meal. I know I’ll be checking this one off my list as soon as I can!
