Every winter season, the resort has three major holiday periods to look forward to. First is Christmas and the week leading up to New Year’s. Next, is MLK Weekend which we’re in the midst of now. Then, it’s President’s Week (yes week, check your black out dates people). Those three times tend to be our busiest of the season. Our team does everything they can to keep the resort running smoothly, provide stellar conditions, plus have an exciting list of events and activities for guests to enjoy. We were thrilled with the success of the Christmas/NYE week from events to conditions (even considering the warm up), and overall seeing smiling faces in the courtyard. If you missed out, not to worry! We’re bringing back some crowd favorites for MLK weekend plus a little something extra that can have you winning big.

MLK Weekend Events
1/12-1/14 Teton Gravity Research Stokemobile: Watch TGR’s action packed ski/snowboard content on one of the mounted flat screen tv’s, lounge around the fire and listen to live entertainment from the Stokemobile’s DJ booth, or drop into virtual reality and get behind the scenes of some of TGR’s favorite films.
1/13 & 1/14 Blue Trunk Balloon: Come enjoy energetic, fun-filled, and engaging balloon twisting in the Lincoln Peak Courtyard! (rain location in the Gate House)
1/13 Blizzard Boogie: Sugarbush brings the Blizzard, DJ Patrick Quimby brings the boogie. Fun, family friendly dance party in the Lincoln Peak Courtyard from 1pm-4pm. Lot of cool prizes and give-a-ways.

1/13 NSAA Safety Month Search and Rescue Dos and Don’ts: In the Sleeper Room in Gate House Lodge, joinDrew Clymer, the VT Department of Public Safety Search & Rescue Coordinator to learn safety tips for being prepared and what to do in the event of an emergency.
1/13 Walt’s After Dark: Ride the last lift up, skin, or hike to Walt’s Glen House for dinner or a drink and then enjoy a ski or snowboard down under the stars. And know that “Walt’s After Dark” means that the lifts have stopped spinning and it will be dark when you ski or snowboard down the hill.
1/14 Face Painting: Bring the kiddos for face painting in the Sleeper Room of the Gate House Lodge.
1/14 Live Après Music: 2:30 – 5:30 PM at the Wunderbar with Jimmy the Great, 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Castlerock Pub with Running in Circles, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Green Mountain Lounge with Amerikana Blue, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Rumble’s Bistro and Bar with Hoh Down
1/14 MLK Fireworks Snowshoe Tour: Enjoy the fireworks display and sip some yummy hot chocolate in the Patrol Shack or on the deck. This tour will leave The Farmhouse and go to the summit of the Gate House Quad and then returning to The Farmhouse. Cost $94.00 tour with snowshoe rental, $74.00 snowshoe tour only.
1/14 Alyx the Magician – One Woman Show: Alyx performs over 200 high energy family shows a year. Beginning her career as a traveling street theater entertainer, Alyx’s magic DNA goes back to the earliest recorded performances of magic. Location: Gate House Lodge, Lincoln Peak

1/14 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Torchlight Parade & Fireworks: Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a special fireworks display and torchlight parade held on Spring Fling. Remember please leave all pets at home.
1/15 MLK Day Food Drive: Give back this Martin Luther King Jr. Day by donating to the Mad River Valley Food Pantry. Bring items to donate at drop off locations at both Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen. For every donated item, Sugarbush will be donating $1 through the Be Better Here Fund to the MRV Food Pantry.

Every Saturday, we’ll be looking for the best photos of the day & will be giving out sweet prizes!
Rules:
- Take your best photo at Sugarbush on Saturday.
- Post on social media with #SaturdayAtTheBush & tag Sugarbush.
- Go to the Guest Services desk at either Lincoln Peak or Mt Ellen and show them your post. If you are 1 of the first 10 guests (5 at Lincoln Peak, 5 at Mt Ellen) to show guest services your post, you’ll win one of the Daily Prizes!
- But wait, there’s more! Didn’t win one of the Daily Prizes? You still have a chance to win, because each submission is automatically entered to win the Weekly Grand Prize, which will be announced on the Sugarbush Instagram every Thursday!
- So be fast – if you want to win that Daily Prize – but not too fast – if you want a shot at the Weekly Grand Prize! We’re only considering the best photos for the Weekly Grand Prize – so take your time, and have fun with it!
