Free and Convenient Transportation in the Mad River Valley

The Mad Bus operated by Green Mountain Transit is a local transportation service in the Mad River Valley that runs every winter. Stopping at central locations through Waitsfield as well as lodging facilities along the access road, it’s a quick and easy way to get around the mountain and the valley! This free service will run for the 23/24 winter season starting December 22 and run through March 31st. Not only does this help make our mountain facilities and local shopping more accessible, by reducing the use of our own vehicles and hopping on public transportation, makes our valley a little greener too. The Mad Bus is open to the public and we highly encourage our guests to use it! If you ask me, why park in Lot F and walk half a mile to the lift, when you can hop on the bus and get dropped off directly in front of Clay Brook.

While you can find paper schedules places across the resort, the best resource to utilize is the Transit App for real time bus tracking. That way you can plan your day quickly and easily. The Mad Bus travels 4 routes that include the Valley Floor, Mt. Ellen, Mountain Condos, as well as Access Road routes. And, NEW this year the Mad Bus will be operating an additional two weekends (the first two of April) conveniently for some of our biggest events of the year including Pond Skimming, Spring Fling, and Pride Weekend.
