This past Saturday, September 7th, Sugarbush and the Mad River Valley Rotary teamed up to host our second annual Outpour concert. All proceeds from both tickets and raffles went to benefit the Vermont Community Foundation’s VT Flood Response & Recovery Fund. Despite a call for bad weather, things didn’t get wet until the late afternoon, with only two of the six bands needing to move inside. But whether inside or out, the party carried on.
People came out in support. All in all we raised $9355 for a great cause, and had some serious fun doing it. Down on the lawn, we held the first ever Shweebee tournament. What is Shweebee you ask? It’s a frisbee based game part Can Jam, part Corn Hole, and part Polish Horseshoes, carefully crafted to perfection over the years. The creator, Clint from The Grift, who also performed later that evening, partnered with us to debut his new game to the public (I entered the tournament and can personally say it’s an absolute blast).
Perhaps most inspiring was the sheer volume and quality of raffle and silent auction items that were available at the end. From artwork to gift cards to another Heaven’s Gate Chair and beyond, we want to offer a big thank you to all of our donors. Here’s a quick list.

While we don’t know what’s in store for the 3rd year yet, we do know that there will in fact be a 3rd year. Stay tuned on our events calendar in the future for next summer’s event, and thank you again to everyone who helped raise money for a great cause.
