Longtime Sugarbush partner and overall amazing organization, High Fives Foundation, is probably one you have heard about at this point. You have likely seen their logo on stickers or hats around the Valley or up on the hill. Or more than likely you have seen their athletes, along with countless others, ripping laps on the hill for their Fat Ski-A-Thon. This past weekend High Fives Foundation raised over $250,000 through this year’s Fat Ski-A-Thon. So awesome. I’d recommend popping over to Dave’s recent post and video with High Fives founder Roy Tuscany to learn more about it.
The other big news in the High Fives world is that they’re premiering their new B.A.S.I.C.S.(Being Aware Safe In Critical Situations) videos tomorrow. The B.A.S.I.C.S program was created to reach young athletes in order to promote smart decision making in the mountains and injury prevention. Sugarbush has a history of working with High Fives on these videos and we were heavily featured in their Adaptive Skier episode alongside VT Adaptive Ski & Sports. Each video focuses on a different aspect of safety, and they’re quite well done. They’re pretty quick too, so it’s worth the less than 10 minutes to watch all five videos.
You can actually head over and watch the videos now if you want, but tomorrow you’ll get the full experience with the High Fives crew from 9:00 – 10:00 PM if you sign up for the event. And don’t worry, it’s totally free. Either way, stay safe out there!
