This season’s campaign which you may or may not have noticed, has raised a few eyebrows. Most notably with our opening day hats. If you were here, you would know they featured a pink glazed donut with wings. Pretty cool, right? But also…why. Well we have a pretty good reason for leaning into some fun and funky creative this season. And that reason is, This Mountain Makes Us. Literally. Sugarbush makes us who we are as dedicated skiers, riders, and lovers of the winter season. With that, we’re turning it all to you. What does Sugarbush make you?
You’ll see in our ads, posters, and emails this season, personas that represent some of the characters that make up our community. The mama bear who craves altitude, or the young at heart who feel their youngest the higher in elevation they go. We’re encouraging you to come find yourself. Mountains offer an endless second to conjure that voice into being. If you have a primal urge to find yourself in a moment where you want to be nowhere else, this mountain makes you too. It’s that sensation of standing on top, peering out, looking down, then taking a deep breath and diving in.
What will the mountain make you?
We’re going to help you out a little bit in finding that inner self that we want to let out. The weirder the better. To help you create this character, or caricature of yourself, we’ve created the This Mountain Makes Us Virtual Photobooth. An interactive photo booth you can use right on your own device. It has all of the features of a traditional photobooth, including the silly and out there props to decorate yourself in. With the custom “props” (which are virtually just stickers to drag and drop on your photo), you can transform the selfie you took at the summit, into who you truly feel you become at Sugarbush. Whether that’s adding wings for soaring through runs, or a crown for conquering a trail, it’s all up to you. With this interactive photobooth, you will be able to see how you feel when you’re on the mountain.
How it works
Follow this link to get to the virtual photobooth. (Look for QR codes around the resort too, but keep this tab open in your browser for easy access all season!). It will open a tab in your default browser, so no need to download an app! Fill out the information to get started.
Give the platform access to your camera. If you don’t, that’s okay! You can always upload a photo from your library or change the settings later on.
That will open this page, except when you open it – you’ll see yourself! (sorry I didn’t want to upload a goofy photo of myself for you all to see 😝). But here, you can take a selfie, a photo of someone else, or upload from your library to start editing.
Once your photo is taken or uploaded, let the fun begin! The stickers will appear for you to enhance your photo. Just tap which stickers you want to use. Once on your photo, you will be able to move and resize them as needed.
Have fun with the stickers! Add as many as you’d like! When you’re finished select the check mark.
Next, it will ask you if you’d like your photo included in our public gallery. If so, select yes and you can see yourself featured throughout the season! If not, that’s alright too. You’ll still be able to save the image on your phone for you to keep.
Whether you choose to add to the gallery or not, you’ll be able to share your image!
