Spreading Safety Awareness at Sugarbush for NSAA Safety Month

January is here, and with it comes NSAA Safety Month—an important time to spotlight the ways we work together to ensure a fun and safe experience on the mountain. At Sugarbush, safety isn’t just a rule—it’s a shared commitment that keeps our community thriving. Whether you’re carving your first turns or shredding like a pro, we’re all in this together to ensure every run is as safe as it is memorable.

What is NSAA Safety Month?

NSAA Safety Month is a nationwide initiative organized by the National Ski Areas Association to promote awareness and education about skiing and snowboarding safety. It’s an opportunity to brush up on mountain rules and etiquette that keep everyone riding safely, while sharing tips, resources, and what steps to take if the unexpected happens!

This month-long event gives us the opportunity to highlight important safety topics like:

The Responsibility Code: Your 10-point guide to safe skiing and riding.

Terrain Park Safety: Pro tips for navigating freestyle terrain with care.

Lift Etiquette: Master the art of loading, riding, and unloading lifts smoothly and safely.

Collision Awareness: Ride smart, ski responsibly, and avoid accidents on the slopes.

How Sugarbush is Taking Part

At Sugarbush, we’re dedicated to fostering a culture of safety. Throughout NSAA Safety Month, we’re celebrating with activities and events designed to share valuable safety tips and keep our guests informed on everything from mountain rules to best practices for staying safe on the slopes.
