Mt. Ellen Happenings and Events

January is here and while Mother Nature hasn’t been completely cooperative (please start doing daily snow dances!) the snowmaking and mountain ops teams have been hard at work to get snow out onto the hill and more terrain open. Just this week we opened Mt. Ellen’s Summit Chair. This means we’re offering skiing and riding from top to bottom, as well as stellar views off of the summit. Operations continue to expand at Mt. Ellen, which means we have some exciting events and happenings in store.

$40.83 Thursdays

This year, we’re offering Mt. Ellen only lift tickets for just $40.83 every Thursday (minus holidays weeks). This price was inspired by the mountain’s elevation, 4,083 feet! You can also choose to add on a $5 or $10 donation at check out which will go to our friends at Vermont Adaptive. After a day out on the hill, head into the Green Mountain Lounge for an apres ski party with live music and food specials, plus beer specials and swag from a different sponsor each week. Fiddlehead Brewing Company was the first sponsor to kick of $40.83 Thursdays yesterday!

Walt’s After Dark

Starting next Saturday, January 15th, Walt’s After Dark is back. Hike or skin up to Mt. Ellen’s midway lodge for a beverage, grilled cheese or both! Afterwards, ski or ride back down by moonlight. For those who are interested in participating, please be advised that there is a new uphill travel route starting at the bottom of the Sunny Q lift. Be on the look out for the orange flags.

Riemergasse Terrain Park

The Sugarbush PARKS crew has been hard at work over in the Rimergasse Terrain Park. 64 features are now open, which almost breaks their record! This weekend they’ll be hosting the Goon Jam, a free gathering with plenty of prizes and give-aways. They also will be hosting Shrediquette on January 22nd for NSAA Safety Month. This event gives riders the chance to practice in the park while getting tips from our Ski and Ride team.

More open terrain and events are on the way, so stay tuned for updates and keep checking our Conditions Report and Events Calendar for more information.
