Get ready for a wet and wild weekend! Just kidding…sort of. The events for this weekend are ON rain or shine. That includes Spring Fling on Saturday 4/12 and the Mad River Triathlon Sunday 4/13. We know the forecast isn’t looking too great, but we have plenty of covered areas to groove under and there’s still lots of fun to be had! Don’t forget Spring Fling is FREE admission for all, we’ll have a food drive going on, and it’s a great time to gear up before the Mad River Triathlon on Sunday. Let’s get into what you need to know.

VIP Viewing Experience Raffle
Have you heard? If you scan in to ski or ride anytime between now and Saturday morning, with an Ikon Pass, Quad Pack, even a free TBD ticket, you’re entered in a raffle for a VIP viewing experience. You and 3 friends may be chosen to view the stage from the VIP Coke Viewing Area. Winners will be announced in the Lincoln Peak Courtyard at 11AM.

Food Drive
Don’t forget to bring an item for the food drive for the Mad River Valley Community Pantry! There will be drop off bins located at the entrance from the parking lot, near the General Store, as well as at Guest Services inside Gate House at Lincoln Peak. The food drive always needs items like non-perishable goods, coffee, laundry and bath products, and more. If you’re not able to bring items with you, no worries! QR codes will be placed with the bins if you would like to make a monetary donation.
Mad River Triathlon
Sunday 4/13

Join the Mad River Path’s return of the locally beloved Mad River Triathlon! This is an inclusive four stage race. Adventurous racers will run, paddle, bike, skin up and then race down Inverness at Mt. Ellen. The race course will be fine-tuned to the trail, river and snow conditions on the day of the race. Mad River Triathlon started as Tucker Hill Triathlon in 1979 by Rob Center who ran the Tucker Hill Cross Country Ski Touring Center in Fayston. The original event featured cross-country skiing, biking, and paddling. One year in the early 1980’s, a lack of snow caused the substitution of running for skiing. The four events remained part of the competition as it segued from the Tucker Hill Triathlon to the Sugarbush Triathlon. It was later renamed the Mad River Adventure Games with the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce and Sugarbush Resort presenting the event throughout the years and until 2014. In 2024 a team of Valley non-profits resurrected the event imbuing it with the spirit of cooperation and environmental stewardship.
