High Fives Foundation’s 12th Annual FAT Ski-A-Thon
The Fat Ski-a-Thon started in 2011 as an event for local Vermonters to spend a day skiing on “fat” skis at Sugarbush Resort, but it has transformed into a community event that welcomes all demographics. Accomplished skiers, novice skiers, adaptive skiers and snowboarders are encouraged to join in on the fun. While High Fives’ Five Pillars of Sport keep athletes active and outdoors throughout the year, there’s something oh-so-special about the winter season. That’s right, they have officially launched their 2023 Ski-A-Thon series! Join us for an epic day on the slopes full of philanthropy and fun times.
About the Event
Sugarbush Vermont x High Fives Foundation Share A Community of outdoor sports enthusiasts and philanthropists! Together we share a community of like minded individuals creating a universal shift with inclusion in the outdoor sports to all. Participants will begin after having gathered pledges like Nascar racing chasing sponsorships. Each participant will challenge themselves to hot laps as many times as possible from first to the last chair. Awards are given out for a variety of categories. There will be a vendor village, live DJ, lunch provided for participants, and an all-around great party in the name of philanthropy!
The Annual Fat Ski-a-Thon transforms Sugarbush’s base-area beyond the normal weekend party. Participants used the Valley House and Super Bravo lifts to ski throughout the day. Ski-A-Thon participants dance in the lift line to the event’s DJ, while they fill their pockets with donated snacks from local sponsors. Check in begins at 8AM in the Green Mountain Lounge in the Mt. Ellen Base Lodge. The Ski-A-Thon then lasts from lifts open to close, 9AM-3:30PM. Awards will commence at 4:30PM in the Green Mountain Lounge!
