Our groomer team catches the eye of just about everybody. I saw kids and adults alike, point and gasp in awe of the cats heading up the mountain on New Year’s Eve to begin grooming. Ever wonder what it’s like to be in one? To travel across the dark mountain taking everything in from a new perspective. Or, at sunrise just as the first drop of sunlight hits the snow. Well, you don’t have to wonder anymore. Actually, you never had to! Sugarbush offers three incredibly unique experiences with our Husky Cat. A new addition to the fleet as of last year, our Husky Cat is glass enclosed and heated for optimal viewing and comfort. The cabin seats 8 passengers plus 1 more lucky guest who can ride next to the driver. And with three distinct offerings, there’s something for kids, advanced skiers and riders, non-skiers and riders and more.
Sunrise First Tracks
Book a private Cat ski and ride tour on our enclosed Husky Cat to experience pristine, deep powder or untouched corduroy as you cruise down the mountain before anyone else. These guided tours leave from the base of the Gate House Quad, and get you access to the terrain off the North Lynx Triple before the lifts start spinning. The tours are weather dependent and do require adequate snow cover. These tours are for ages 12 and up and require advanced skiing/riding abilities, as there is no beginner terrain available at this location. Guided by some of Sugarbush’s finest, the number of runs you get per tour depends on the speed of the group. Most tours average at least five runs.
The Allyn’s Lodge Experience
Discover Sugarbush like never before with our Allyn’s Lodge Experience. Guests journey up to Lincoln Peak’s Allyn’s Lodge via cabin cat, or choose to snowshoe or skin to the lodge with a Sugarbush guide. Once there, enjoy a five-course dining experience with upscale Vermont fare in an intimate atmosphere lit by candles and a crackling fire. Meals typically consist of hors d’oeuvres, soup, salad, entrée, and dessert. Following the meal, bundle up for a moonlit ski on a freshly groomed trail led by ski patrol, or descend to the base in the comfort of the heated cabin cat. Skiing down in the quiet of the night heightens the senses, providing an experience many guests return for again and again. Après Groomer Rides
Enjoy a one-hour private ride to the summit of Lincoln Peak. You will venture above the Heaven’s Gate Triple to the old terminus of the historic Sugarbush Gondola. This can be a great experience for those in your family that don’t care to ski or ride. The route to the top is based on snow cover but typically includes ascending via the Spring Fling / Snowball / Jester Route and descending via the Jester / Downspout Route. Enjoy sweeping views across Lake Champlain to the beautiful Adirondacks. On certain evenings you may see all the way to the New Hampshire White Mountains. Under the right weather conditions, you are sure to have a glorious and memorable evening. Please note, depending on the time of year, timing may not allow for a sunset to be seen, but the views will be amazing!
