Awakening

The Winter Solstice brings a few things. The darkness of the shortest day of the year, usually crisp temperatures, a seasonal shiver that signals that the cold months are just beginning. All of which remind us that fun is afoot. For a resort, it feels like an awakening. An increasing interest in incoming weather. Checking daily if there’s the desired snowflake on our weather apps of choice. The “Winter Storm Warning!” always a welcomed gift when you’re an anxious skier or rider, and usually means there will be more to explore.

But, weather and terrain aren’t the only things that awaken at the mountain around this time of year. We’re firing up the twinkle lights, lighting the Courtyard firepits and lodge fireplaces, warming up the ovens and stoves, and stacking the events calendar with lots of fun for the whole family. Tis the season to enjoy time spent with those closest to you, and Sugarbush is an easy place to make your home away from home. Especially when some of our lodging offerings include plush beds, living spaces with room for Santa deliveries, and full kitchens for baking. We’ll even throw in a gift for you – a $100 gift card for extra spending money when you book a stay with us between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

For those who love tradition, catch Santa for breakfast at Rumble’s, as well as a non-denominational service on December 24th. For even more cheer, bring the kiddos for a Carol Sing-Along on Tuesday. Interested in celebrating the holidays and the new year in a more unique way? We’ve got magic shows, family stargazing, live music, snowshoe tours and more.

We welcome all kinds of celebration here, and we’re happy to bring you the fun to round out the year. No matter how you choose to celebrate, including, as of now, riding on the most open terrain in the East, we hope your journey over the river and through the woods finds you up here at the Resort. Happy Holidays from the Sugarbush fam to you and yours!

See you on the hill,
Meg
