Boy, was it fun to have a big mountain bike race back on resort this summer. The Eastern States Cup Sugarbush Showdown series returned earlier this month featuring both enduro and downhill mountain bike races, and man was it a happening time.
The enduro race saw 274 competitors, a record turnout here, with the downhill race including an impressive 121 racers. It was awesome to see such a crowd up here for biking. As you may or may not know, our terrain here is pretty technical, and revamping our mountain bike offerings continues to be part of the plan in the coming years. That’s why it’s reassuring to see such great attendance with this event and why we hope to continue growing it moving forward.
On that note, we sponsored two riders this summer, Steve Estabrook and Isaac Allaire, both of whom we have sponsored in the past. They both competed in the “Pro” division at Eastern States Cup and podiumed with Estabrook placing 1st in both the enduro and downhill and Allaire finishing 3rd in the enduro and 6th in the downhill. Give it up for the Sugarbush riders!
