March has been a great month at Sugarbush so far. With snow storms and powder days intertwining with sunshine and bluebird days, it has been the place to be. Sprinkle in an event, live music, or a fun food scene and it just can’t be beat. And although March seems to be flying by just as January and February seem to have, we’ve still got lots on deck for the rest of the season!
As I write this, I can’t believe I’m planning for our Spring events while we’re currently getting hit with one of the biggest storms we’ve seen this season. I promise I won’t rush us into Spring, but we have lots going on you just won’t want to miss! Spring skiing can be some of the best skiing of the season, right? Well, sunshine and tailgates help at least. Make your plans to reluctantly roll into the end of the season with us at Sugarbush, here’s what we’ve got on tap…
Recurring Events
First up we’ve got our staples here. Live Music, Blizzard Boogie, and Sushi Night at Rumble’s all recurring through March! We’ll have live music at the Green Mountain Lounge, Castlerock Pub, the Wunderbar, and Rumble’s Bistro and Bar on select days throughout the month. You’ll be able to hear music from the likes of Dave Keller Band, The Detonators, Kind Bud and Nug, Ragged Revue, Sugar Shack and more! Although live music will continue at CRP, this Saturday 3/18 will be the last night of the season to enjoy late night bites 6-10pm. If you’re looking to expand your palette, you’ll want to head to Rumble’s on Fridays for Sushi Night. Enjoy authentic specials including Gyoza, miso soup, Wakame salad, a range of Maki rolls and Nigiri from 4PM until 8PM.
One Time Events
We’ve got a couple of events that anyone can enjoy before our two big weekends in early April. First off, we’ve got the Side Surfers Banked Slalom. Side Surfers and Sugarbush PARKS team up to present the 7th Annual Side Surfers Banked Slalom at Mt. Ellen, March 25th. It’s a timed snowboard race through a handcrafted course in consisting of berms, turns, and technical aspects that will challenge riders. Two runs each-best time counts! Riders and spectators are encouraged to rally family and friends to join in this community celebration. All ages are invited for a day of riding, camaraderie, and friendly competition.
If you’re like me, dreaming of strolling through the farmer’s market in the summertime, then this is the event to help tide you over! Ski Vermont Specialty Food Day will be visiting Sugarbush March 25th. This pop-up farmer’s market style event showcases all the unique things that Vermont has to offer. Sample various sweets and treats and go home with some too! Ski Vermont partners showcased include Cabot Cheese, Barr Hill Gin, Mad River Distillers, Woodchuck Cider & Daychaser Seltzers, and Long Trail Brewing.
Last but not least, we have Keep Vermont Cool Climate Action Workshop happening on March 30th. Join legislators and partners in the Mountain Room at Gate House Lodge to learn how you can #ActionClimate. Representatives Dara Torre, Kari Dolan, and many other legislators and partners (to be announced soon) will be hosting an evening of interactive climate conversation, free food, resources, giveaways, and more!
